Your Raw Living Food Recipes

Once you realise the amazing diversity of raw foods on offer, especially the endless varieties of vegetables and fruit, you feel inspired to experiment with raw living food recipes. Taking a step towards inventing your own taste sensations is a real buzz. When others share and marvel in your raw culinary brilliance that’s kind of nice too!

My first adventure in creating my own easy raw food recipes was inventing kickbutt homemade salad dressings. Before eating raw I’d never even made any sort of salad dressing! Varying the dressing of a salad can completely change its character, even if you’re still using the same old salad ingredients.

My next breakthrough with raw diet recipes came after I discovered Andrew Perlot’s excellent e-book on the subject, Savory Raw Dressings and Sauces. I went on a spree of creating the best salad dressings ever – oil free! As Andrew points out, there’s no need to send the fat content of your raw food diet through the roof. There are so many tasty and satisfying non-oily salad dressing ingredients available in the raw food world.

Next I experimented with more exotic and exciting vegetable salad recipes. Some of these were mediocre and a few were absolute disasters, but that’s all part of learning through trying. Want to go raw? Start here!

Dehydrated crackers, breads and cookies haven’t taken me quite a while to get right. If you’ve struggled through the thinner or thicker layers and shorter or longer dehydrating time dilemmas then you know what I mean. Even now I have only a few simple dehydrating recipes of my own, otherwise I stuff it up. I have more luck with dehydrating when I follow recipes from The Raw Food Coach. These are so straightforward and tasty that I can usually get them spot on! Karen's e-book "50 Quick, Easy, Healthy & Delicious Raw Food Recipes" was a great help to me when I first started eating raw.

Last but not least comes my personal dietary crutch, raw coffee. During my 100% raw phases I really seem to need an occasional cacao top-up. Even if you’re not a coffee drinker, you’ll love the easy raw food recipes I’ve created as my coffee substitute. You’ll get the same kick but without the come-down, and the slightly bitter chocolate creaminess really makes you feel self-soothed!
