High Raw Food Diet Challenge - Day 14

by Trina
(Growing Raw Health)

I express my love freely and unconditionally.

I’ve been avoiding this affirmation for some reason. Time to give it a go.

I’m eating huge amounts of vegetable salad each day. Each salad fills a 2L ice-cream container. I’m easily getting 80% volume from raw food, but 80% calories is much harder.

I’m starting to crave some of those gourmet raw meals I used to make, especially bread/pasta substitutes. I don’t missing meat at all, eating vegetarian is easy.

While I’ve been visiting Mum and Dad I’ve been shopping at their local organic fruit and veg shop. Although it’s convenient, it’s pricey. I miss my bathtubs full of greens and fresh supplies from the polytunnel.

I pay the price for organic food because I believe it’s important, both for your health and the environment, to eat organic food whenever you can. Organic fruits and vegetables pack greater nutritional value without the pesticide loads and chemical residues. Organic farming practices work to support biodiversity and nurture the environment.

When you’re buying organic food on a limited budget, it’s important to know which purchases to prioritise. That is, know which fruits and vegetables typically carry the highest loads of pesticide, herbicide and fungicide residues, and put them at the top of your organic shopping list. Best of all, grow your own; reduced food miles, chemical-free and freshness guaranteed.
