I grind the rice also for making idlies. My successful recipe is Idly Powder. Ingredients: 200g Orudu dal, 100g Bengal gram, 15 dry chillis, 25g curry leaves, asoafoetida powder (as required), 10 crushed garlic cloves, salt (as required). Fry orudu dal, bengal gram, dry chilli and curry leaves. And also fry garlic and salt for 3 minutes, leaving wet in these two things. Leave them 15 minutes, then put them into the Dry Grinding Jar, powder it. Store in the stainless steel container. You mix this powder with Gingelly oil when you use. It is the best match for hot idlies.
