Prescription medicines should also be used with much caution and as sparingly as possible, as they contain many chemicals that linger in the intestines for a long time. Too much sugar can cause fungus to get out of hand and can disrupt the bacterial balance of the colon. Flour, especially white flour, should be consumed with discretion, if at all. Think of it this way – you can make glue out of flour and water. So what do you think happens to the sensitive lining of your intestines when white flour mixes with liquids inside of you? Refined flours are one of the fastest ways to clog up your system and should be avoided at all costs.

Detoxify Your Colon With A Salt Flush

You can detoxify your colon at home using this simple method, but check with your medical practitioner first.

One of the most effective and quickest natural ways to flush your colon is with a salt flush. In the morning before eating, drink 1 litre (nearly a quart) of lukewarm distilled water with 2 teaspoons of sea salt dissolved in it. The salt water will have the same specific gravity as your blood, so that your kidneys will not be able to absorb the liquid, hence the liquid quickly passes straight through your intestinal tract.

The taste may take some getting used to (like ocean water), but try to think of it as a simple warm broth. If it is difficult to finish such a large quantity to water, try doing some simple stretches like raising your hands above your head or doing some gentle twisting to access more space in your intestines.

If possible, after finishing the salt water, lie on your right side for 30 minutes. Although this part is helpful, it is not crucial. You should soon have multiple bowel movements. You can repeat the salt flush once a day for as many days as you like, making sure to follow it up throughout the day with plain clear water. After a few days you should feel a lightness in your bowels and an overall improvement in energy.

Considering that on average, people in the US alone spend between a total of 400 and 600 million dollars on laxative therapies, it’s a wonderful thing to know that some water and some salt can naturally give you a very safe yet powerful cleanse for just pennies.

Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon Hydrotherapy is like an enema, but way more profound and thorough. Whereas an enema may only reach the final part of your intestines, colon hydrotherapy washes out and soothes your entire intestinal system, which can be as long as you are tall.

Performed by a licensed professional, a tube is gently inserted into your rectum and warm water begins to flow into your colon from a machine. When your colon is full, the machine then receives the dirty contents of your intestines. This process is repeated many times until the colon has been flushed completely clean.
