Superfood inspiration
by: Trina

I agree Em, the value of my current superfood dose is that it keeps my healthy eating goals in mind. It's a reminder every day that I'm aiming for optimum health.

I've also found it easy to incorporate bee pollen in my diet each day, especially in smoothies.

I haven't felt any dramatic increase in energy or strength, but its effects could be subtle. Or maybe I won't notice until I live to 100, seeings bee pollen is supposed to help you live longer!

Seeings goji berries are high in anti-oxidants, you're probably giving your body a gradual detox. Can't hurt to detox after Christmas...

Goji Update
by: Emily

I haven't felt any different since eating the
Goji berries though I quite like them and they are easy to include in my diet.

I have been inspired me to be more healthy overall I've started drinking green smoothies daily and they are really good and easy for me to make and take to work.

I suppose even if I'm not getting the boost from the berries I'd hoped its leading me down a good healthy path

Bee Pollen Dessert
by: Trina

Last night we experimented by using bee pollen as sprinkles for dessert. Bruce had bee pollen on icecream and I had bee pollen on vanilla yoghurt. Both were yum. The bee pollen tastes crunchy and sweet, and adds a honey flavour to the yoghurt and icecream.

I'm not really feeling any different though. Maybe a bit more motivated to follow through and finish jobs rather than feeling defeated and overwhelmed before I've even started, but that could simply be the inspiration of the new year. It's not like spirulina where I feel a strong and definite kick in my day.

Bee Pollen Sandwich
by: Trina

Today I tried my bee pollen dose in a sandwich with honey and a grated zucchini salad. The granules made little crunches in each mouthful that was kind of interesting, but I don't think I'd go for it generally.

I don't feel super-powered yet, but it's only day 3.

Spirulina
by: Assunta

My superfood is going to be Spirulina. Can't wait for all the energy I'm going to have.

Bee Pollen Guinea Pig
by: Bruce

I'm taking bee pollen for the month because Trina is - I'm the control subject because I have no knowledge or expectations about it's effects, so theoretically I can report honestly about whether anything really happens or not. I'll be getting it in my green smoothies each morning anyway so it's easy for me to participate.

Super food challenge!
by: Emily

Hi posting late but did start yesterday, my super food is goji berries!
They've been in vogue so have been fairly easy to find which is important for me due to my lack of time to prep etc.

I've bought them in dried form so they are easy to sprinkle on cereal etc...

Looking forward to getting some extra energy!

Bee Pollen
by: Trina

My chosen superfood is bee pollen. I'm using Australian pollen from Beechworth Honey. It's collected from flowering Eucalypt species in Western Australia. Eucalypt pollens have one of the highest percentages of linoleic acid, an Omega-6 essential fatty acid.

I've eaten small amounts of bee pollen in honey before (another Beechworth Honey product called 'Honey with Australian Pollen'), so I already know I'm not allergic to bee pollen. Usually you'd start with a single granule and test your sensitivity. I'm starting with the regular dosage of half a teaspoon a day in my morning green smoothie.

I'm looking forward to an energy and endurance boost.
