High Raw Food Diet Challenge - Day 22

by Trina
(Growing Raw Health)

I open myself up to miraculous health.

I’ve had a solid increase in my energy and lifted my outlook on life over the last three weeks. The pick-up was rapid but seems to have plateaued after the first week at about 8 out of 10 on my subjective daily rating system. I think the last 1-2 points are all about coffee.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think coffee is evil, and I love it! Even when I’ve removed coffee as a daily habit I still enjoy it occasionally.

However, when I’m aiming for peak health, coffee needs to go for a number of reasons:

  • Daily coffee is an addiction and I don’t like the dependency.

  • Coffee gives me skin break-outs and holds me back from my green smoothie glow.

  • Coffee leaches calcium from my body.

I had confirmation of the last point recently when I received the results of a hair sample analysis. I had the hair sample analysis done by Interclinical Laboratories in Sydney as a baseline for comparing my health before and after eating high raw. I was surprised to realise my calcium levels were at the lower end of the acceptable range. I’ve just wound up breastfeeding my son, which would also contribute to the result, but I know that my diet is generally well supplied with calcium. The culprit is most likely to be coffee.

Not only was my calcium level low, but my calcium/potassium ratio was out of balance. Either the bananas or the coffee have to go, and I can’t live without bananas, so.... looks like my December health challenge is reducing my coffee intake as much as I can.

My selection of herbs and spices were delivered quickly and were of the best quality I have seen. Great service, fantastic products. Fresh organic herbs from a supplier I trust. - Susan S.

Overall, it was a very positive experience.... they treated me in an exemplary manner when I first ordered from them. I got exactly the product I needed/ordered/expected vis-a-vis the sprouting wheatgrass seeds. I would certainly order from them again for anything that specific. - geo442
